Building a Scalable 3D Brand Language

Before developing Gas Tank product film, we collaborated with Ctrl on the genesis of a flexible set of 3D branding assets, as well as motion elements, designed to live across their whole digital ecosystem.

Our ambition was to extend Ctrl's visual identity into a recognizable three dimensional system that allowed for scalability across their marketing, product and web experiences.

A key part of the system is Ctrls expressive color palette. Colors were treated as a main element of the brand, using saturated hues and bold contrasts with neutral backgrounds show the energy and the bold personality of the brand.

Stark shapes, soft materials and bright, in contrast to toned-down backgrounds, were used to bring a feeling of confidence and modernity. In a 3D world, the vibrant colors added volume and distinct presence, unfolding the brands spirit, while keeping the overall brand tone both approachable and playful.

Motion for Apps

The 3D branding assets were paired with embedded app animations that boost rhythm, hierarchy, and synergy.

A mix of snappy 2D and 3D motion was curated to drive attention, and elevate the users experience.

The result: a 3D branding system that feels alive, bold, coherent and distinctly Ctrl.
